RÖCHLING INTEGRATES MACHINING COMPANY

Plastics processor Fischer GmbH Kunststoff Präzision has a new name. After the acquisition of the company by the Röchling Group last year, the company is now called Röchling Industrial Laupheim GmbH and belongs to the Industrial division. The new name shows that it belongs to the Röchling Group and, above all, highlights the marketing strategy of the division. It consistently places the focus on the industries and, therefore, the customers. Röchling Industrial Laupheim is a leading machining company of precision plastic parts and components made from engineering plastics and high-performance plastics for a range of industrial areas. Its workforce of over 150 employees is based at two German locations in Baden-Württemberg and Thuringia, which are equipped with state-of-the-art CNC machines and other processing facilities for machining plastics.

RÖCHLING MAYWO SETS THE COURSE FOR GROWTH

The Röchling Group is investing EUR 5 million in developing Röchling Maywo GmbH. Up to 25 new jobs will be created with the expansion of production and a new logistics hall at the location in Bad Grönenbach, Germany. The expansion of capacities will significantly strengthen Röchling Maywo’s market position as a leading European manufacturer of vacuum formable sheets and foils made from thermoplastics and pave the way for further growth. “With this investment we are meeting the needs of our strong growth. The expansion of production and the new logistics hall will allow us to better respond to customer requests and further increase delivery capability,” says Managing Director Florian Helmich. The company premises will be expanded by approximately 5,000 square meters of hall area and a large employee car park. The building works are expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2018.

30 YEARS OF RÖCHLING IN DALLAS

Röchling Engineering Plastics (REP) in Dallas, North Carolina/USA, is celebrating a big anniversary. 30 years ago, what was then Röchling Haren KG acquired the company Impact Plastics in order to reinforce its production and sales presence in North America. Since then, REP has grown steadily. The anniversary was an opportunity to hold the biggest open day for customers to date, with REP’s most important distributors taking part in the two-day event. Tim Brown, President of REP, outlined the future strategy of the company: “Over the years, we have achieved significant growth and established ourselves as a leading supplier on the North American market. We have set ambitious goals for the future and want to increase the market share for our core products, combined with a strong, industry-focused approach with new, innovative products.”

THE NEW VERSION OF RITA® 4.0

With RITA® 4.0, Röchling in Haren is offering a fundamentally revised version of the established container calculation program. The program tested by TÜV Nord calculates freestanding, pressureless containers, either spherical or cuboid, on the basis of current DVS guidelines. With many new functions, RITA® 4.0 simplifies the dimensioning of cuboid containers and makes a considerable contribution to the planning of safe and economical containers. During development, Röchling incorporated the experiences, input and suggestions of users in the revision.

BUSINESS MEETINGS WITH SOUTH KOREAN MINISTER

During his first visit to Europe, the South Korean Minister for Trade, Industry and Energy, Paik Ungyu, invited business representatives to a round table in Paris. “The meeting was an excellent platform to introduce the activities of Röchling Automotive in Korea,” says René A. Benz, General Manager of Röchling Automotive Asia. Röchling has long-standing relationships with the South Korean trade investment agency KOTRA, and plans to open its first plant in Asan in the near future.

FURTHER GROWTH IN CHINA

therefore successfully pursuing its growth strategy in this region. The new plant is in the direct vicinity of a production location maintained by BMW Brilliance Automotive (BBA) – a joint venture between BMW and its Chinese partner Brilliance – in the Tiexi district in the west of Shenyang. The plant, which encompasses approximately 16,000 square meters will meet the increasing demand of BBA and optimize the capacities and service offered thanks to its direct proximity to the customer.

SILICON VALLEY – WE ARE ON OUR WAY!

Röchling Automotive has opened a subsidiary in San José, California. The new Customer Team office gives us access to the automotive and mobility community on the west coast of the USA and will meet the needs of the increasing demand for new mobility. The new site is particularly focused on more direct communication with current customers and start-up OEMs in the region. Furthermore, the location is the perfect launch pad for the company’s Aerodynamics, Powertrain and New Mobility products and technologies into the west coast automotive market.

SECOND PLANT OPENED IN SPAIN

Röchling Automotive has continued its growth course in Europe with the opening of another plant in Spain. The production facilities in Teruel are intended to meet customer requirements for flexibility and optimal local delivery times. The site is strategically located to rapidly reach several major automotive manufacturers including Ford, GM, Seat-Volkswagen, Nissan and PSA. By 2019, Röchling Automotive aims to have reached full production capacity and to have invested around EUR 21 million. At this point, the plant will employ just under 100 people.

READY FOR IATF 16949

At Röchling Automotive the final sprint has started on the way to convert from ISO/TS 16949 to IATF 16949. IATF 16949 is the revised quality standard developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) for the automotive industry and replaces ISO/TS 16949. The objective of the new standard is to improve system and process quality at companies in the automotive industry to increase customer satisfaction, detect errors and risks in the production process and the supply chain, and eliminate their causes. The new standard is a response to current changes and new requirements in the automotive industry. This includes products with integrated software, for example. Almost all Röchling Automotive locations have now been successfully audited.
